LoneShark: Three Storytellers drawn together by their shared passion for filmmaking.
In a world in crisis, LoneShark sees the writing on the wall: teamwork is the secret to higher quality projects, faster turn-around and increased odds of success. In the same way that great musical bands collaborate to create their work, LoneShark has brought that artistic collaboration to the world of filmmaking.
LoneShark first produced together on STATIC (2009) a pilot for an anthology television show on their slate. STATIC has since gone on to be recognized as an official selection in the Night of Horror Festival 2010. Following up on that success, LoneShark went on to create the NOWHERE MARY (2009) webseries. Flexing their creative muscle, they simultaneously wrote, shot, edited and released the six part show over six consecutive weeks.
In the screenwriting realm, LoneShark's treasure trove extends even further: to their name, they have six feature-length scripts, one hour-long TV pilot, one cartoon series and a television anthology show. In addition, LoneShark's producers are currently raising funds for the mafia drama INK & STEEL with Michael Madsen attached.
How did these three storymen get here? Time for the second act flashback...
Two-thirds of LoneShark learned their trade at USC's school of cinema while the third man studied acting under Robert X. Modica at Carnegie Hall. After several years which included producing and directing concert tour documentary videos for Atlantic Records and Wyclef Jean's recording label, providing videography services to General Motors with Jimmy Kimmel Live and the band JET, LoneShark moved into music video production. Having produced and directed music videos for New York's hottest independent hiphop and R&B artists, LoneShark decided the time was right for a move to Los Angeles. LoneShark's production experience now spans a decade, including coordinating shoots with talent such as Sean Penn, Demi Moore, Forest Whitaker, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Pattinson among many others.
At the moment, LoneShark is neck deep in pre-production for their claustrophobic thriller DOWN, set to be shot in the fall of 2010.
In the name of geographical spice, LoneShark hails from three distant parts of the world: New York City, Tucson Arizona and Cannes, France. For fun (and meticulous research) LoneShark enjoys long grueling hikes, close quarters tactical classes, and most all activities considered "ill-advised", "thrill-seeking" and "adrenaline inducing."
